I was also facing the same issue but I got a solution that why your airtel sim is not working so try to read this may be you will get your solution as well.

There are many reasons why Airtel sim not working. first, let me tell you the basic reason why your airtel sim is not working properly

1. you don't have any active plans

2. network problems

3. sim is not inserted properly in your handset

4. maybe your sim is 4g and your mobile phone is not compatible with 4g network

5. or you don't ungraded your sim in 4g

6. maybe your sim is damaged

7. you have not verified your identity

Improper Network Configurations:

If for The first time you use an Airtel SIM card with your device, you will be asked if the configuration settings work. Remember that the configurations and settings you get will be different for each handset. This means that if you insert the SIM card into a new handset in the future, you will need to reconfigure the settings for this handset. Save the settings and continue. If you are using a smartphone, make sure you perform a network search and set the automatic or manual mode.

1. first you have to remove the sim card from your device and restart/reboot the device, then the phone will again establish the connection to the network.
2. Try a Different carrier.

3. Go to Your mobile setting: 
  Setting>>Backup & reset >>Network setting reset>>Reset settings

4. Then you have to move to the open field because inside home the walls and door can be block the required signal of the network. Move to the open area where you can communicate effectively. where you can get the signal properly on your device.

5. Toggle Airplane Mode: Many people found this to be a helpful result and it helps in solving your problem quickly. To Toggle the airplane mode, go to the setting and there will be an option to enable the Airplane mode or you can do it from pull down the notification bar and click on the Airplane mode icon. Wait for 30 seconds and tap on the airplane mode icon to stop/off.
Once your device becomes Normal, It will try to search the Network again.

6. Check the SIM card: Sometimes The SIM card isn't inserted properly, SO you may find ''No SIGNAL" or an error on your screen. To solve the error You have to :
Power off your device>>Remove the SIM card>>Reinstall the SIM card properly

7. Now you have to leave your phone for some time to Choose the Mobile Network Automatically; After the Mobile Network chosen automatically, It should help you to solve the problem.

You must send the 10-digit SIM number of your existing Airtel connection by SMS to 121. When you request a new SIM, Airtel will try to deliver it as quickly as possible to your address. Visit the Airtel store to get your AADHAR card, take out your SIM and activate it by dialing 595959.

Insert the SIM card into any other mobile phone and see if there is a network problem or not. Check the card if it is not in place, and if you find a problem, a signal error will appear on your screen.  
     
To check your Airtel SIM status, you can call Airtels Customer Service Number 121 and call your Airtel mobile. To know if your Airtel SIM is still active, do not try to call it from any number, but from the customer service numbers. 

This will allow you to check whether your new Airtel SIM card is active or not. Your new SIM will be activated within a few hours of your confirmation. Pre-paid mobile connectivity can be reactivated after a grace period of 15 days from the date of the deactivation, and you can activate an Airtels SIM by charging Rs20. 
    
Make sure your SIM is connected to the Airtel network. Go to Settings > Wireless Networks > Mobile Networks > SIM Services. If you are traveling abroad or to another region without your mobile SIM, the operator can activate the roaming rule on your mobile number.
    
On older Android devices, you can access the SIM by unplugging the back and removing the battery. If the SIM does not fit in your phone slot, you can try placing some tape on a cardboard or paper tray to ensure a tighter fit. On 4G Volte devices, you can upgrade your old SIM, resulting in better network coverage.  
    
To ensure that third-party apps do not cause problems with the SIM card detected by your Android phone, run your device in safe mode. In Safe Mode, the system runs by default, so you can exclude third-party apps or rooted SIM cards that detect the problem.

If you don't use a SIM and want the error message to disappear, you can search the Google Play Store for the app, search for "notifications" and block them. 
    
If your problem is that the Airtel SIM has no network problems, then follow the last solution. If you can not solve the problem by changing the network, then write the feedback given to your customer care service: My SIM card is not working, it is now more than a month ago and the SIM is still not working. I have bought a new SIM with an old number and when it is plugged in, there is no signal and I receive a new "restart" message when I restart my phone, but I still do not receive a signal. My SIM has not been activated for a long time and I have not called it. If I dial 282, it appears in the network. The phone shows the SIM and the network, but it does not show emergency calls. I contacted Airtel customer services and they advised me to change my Airtel SIM number as the Airtel Centre was damaged. The decision they offered me was to go to the shop and get a new SIM, 
Airtel SIM has stopped logging on to the network, it worked well for me before, but now I have put my entire business on hold. My SIM stopped working yesterday. I tried to place it on other phones, but nothing did not work. You can insert a new SIM, but many phones do not recognize it and you need to restart the device. 
    
If you are using a SIM compartment from another iPhone or iPad model from another phone manufacturer, the compartment may not fit. A service center can replace your SIM card slot or reader on your device, but in some cases, it depends on the nature of the problem.

  1. My airtel prepaid sim with number 9959134779 suddenly stopped working showing a message 'no service' and 'iphone not activated' despite the fact that validity,data plans are intact. This is for the last 10 days and when contacted airtel help , I am given to understand that everything is in order from their side and my connection is perfect and active. I am not receiving any sms or messages with the above 'no service' and 'iphone not activated' on my phone. The apple support told that my iphone is perfect in all fields. Then what I have to do now? I am out of country and cannot come back before coming March to show at airtel service center in India. I am an old customer of your service since so many years.
    Please look into the matter and see that my sim is activated for normal functioning

  2. 1st basic method is Remove
    and Reattach your sim from
    Phone. (Eject and Insert)
    After this Boot your phone.

    2.Go to your phone setting Turn on Airoplane mood and Tum off it.
    3.If it did not working then Go to your mobile data setting and turn on data Roaming.
    (check wheather, your SIM PIN is off or not)
    4.again go to mobile that & tap on network selection and search manually so turn off automatic and It will show the available network. Now select one from that.
    5.the last and final method I hope it must be work ,go to your mobile Setting then Click on General>> Reset »Reset network Setting

  3. for the past 7days my airtel sim hasn’t been working and its getting frustrating
    I cant make bank transactions and other use
